This one‑day course provides a strong introduction to workplace health and safety and is ideal for all employees, especially those taking on additional responsibilities such as becoming a safety representative. Successful learners gain a national Level 2 qualification, creating a solid foundation for further training or career progression.

Training is delivered in a classroom setting, with optional pre‑course or post‑course reading depending on experience.

What the course covers

​

Learners will develop practical knowledge and confidence in:

​

• Roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare

• The purpose and process of risk assessments

• Identifying and controlling common workplace hazards

• Responding effectively to workplace incidents and accidents

​

Assessment is continuous throughout the day and concludes with a short multiple‑choice test.
The qualification does not expire, but regular refresher training is strongly recommended to keep knowledge current and aligned with workplace policies and procedures.
